D3 Blind Search Assistance

D3 is a complex database that compiles thousands of fabrics and blinds in an easy to view format. This database is easy to access by following the steps below. Diamond Drapery has over 15,000 blinds to choose from. The blinds represented in D3 are Diamond Drapery’s most popular blinds.

General Guidelines

There are up to six categories that ask for information to narrow the user’s search. To broaden the search, do not complete all of the categories. To narrow the search, check as many categories as appropriate.

Guidelines by Category

Specific Name Search

This search feature provides the user with the opportunity to search by a specific pattern name or a specific color. For this search to be effective the user must accurately spell the pattern name or the color. If a misspelling occurs, D3 will not yield the appropriate results.

Blind Type

This category enables the user to choose which direction the vanes are manufactured. To determine the difference in styles, please visit the blinds tab located on the left hand toolbar of diamonddrapery.com.

Color Category

The criteria required for this category will vary based on the color scheme. The more colors that are chosen the narrower the results will become. To expand the search, do not choose any colors. For example, if the user checks a blue and a white blind, then only the blinds that have blue and white in them will be displayed. The user will not view blinds that are simply blue or simply white. A new search would be necessary to view all of the blue or white blinds. To find blinds, that are only blue, a new query would have to be constructed, specifying only blue in the color category. To find blinds, that are only white, a new query would have to be constructed, specifying only white in the color category.

Pattern Category

By now, it is possible that the user has narrowed the search by three prior categories. The pattern category refers to the general style of the vane. Some vanes may be reflective in nature, while others have a solid or textured design. The more vane styles that are chosen, the smaller the search results will be. If this category is left blank, the search results will be expanded.

Vane Size

This blind category allows the user to choose which size vane the user would like. Certain vane sizes are only offered for specific applications. If the search yields no results, please leave this category blank.

Material Type

This is the final query category for the D3 blind search. This option enables the user to choose an exact type of material. Do not attempt to complete this category if there are any questions about material type. If this category is left blank, then the search results will be expanded. For example, if a user chooses a wood composite blind for the material type and also chooses a vertical blind for the primary application, then the search will not yield any results. A wood composite material application is normally only used as a horizontal blind.
